About

Join us for an unforgettable 4-night city break in Istanbul, a city where Asia and Europe meet, steeped in history and culture. Once a key stronghold of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires, Istanbul has grown into a vibrant metropolis with a rich and diverse heritage reflected in everyday life. During this holiday, we’ll explore both the Asian and European sides of the city on two half-day guided tours led by an expert local guide. You’ll also have ample free time to visit historic landmarks, browse colourful markets, or unwind with a traditional Turkish coffee while soaking in the city’s unique atmosphere. We’ll then extend our trip in Turkey with a stay in Cappadocia, a region celebrated for its otherworldly landscapes, ancient cave dwellings, and fascinating history. This captivating destination offers an unforgettable experience and a striking contrast to Istanbul’s vibrant energy.

Day 1 (Travel To Turkey – Istanbul):

On arrival in Istanbul Türkiye (Turkey), we meet our local representative and transfer to our hotel in Taksim, the modern part of Istanbul.

Day 2 (Discover Istanbul City – Half Day Tour):

Join us for a half-day guided tour as we explore some of the ancient wonders of Istanbul!

Get ready to delve into this vibrant, energetic city with a day full of discovery and wonder!

After breakfast, we’ll transfer by coach to the picturesque neighbourhood of Fener-Balat. This delightful area is a dream for photographers, with its colourful streets, charming antique shops, colourful staircases, and historic wooden houses—perfect for capturing those unforgettable Instagram shots. We’ll also visit a unique historic church, adding to our walking tour experience.

Next, we’ll transfer by coach to the heart of Istanbul’s old historic part of the city. Here, you’ll be amazed by iconic sites like the stunning Blue Mosque, the ancient Egyptian Obelisks, and the Roman Hippodrome, with a chance to pass by the magnificent Hagia Sophia (viewed from the outside).

During this excursion today, we’ll take a break to enjoy a traditional cup of Turkish coffee or tea in either Balat/Fener or Sultanahmet.

Istanbul is an enchanting blend of ancient heritage and modern energy, with a skyline that spans historic mosques, temples, and churches alongside modern skyscrapers. Spend the afternoon at your own pace, whether you choose to continue exploring the city’s hidden gems or unwind and take it all in. Our expert guide will be on hand with top tips for must-visit spots and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.

Discover more of Istanbul with a visit to the extraordinary Basilica Cistern, available as part of an optional excursion in Sultanahmet. Known as the Yerebatan Sarayi (Sunken Palace), this ancient underground wonder was commissioned by Emperor Justinian in 532 and is one of the largest and most well-preserved Byzantine cisterns in existence. Visitors are mesmerised by its impressive architecture and the serene beauty of this hidden reservoir. Be sure to spot the famous Medusa head columns, which add a touch of mystery to the atmosphere. The Basilica Cistern has also featured in films like James Bond: From Russia With Love and Dan Brown’s Inferno, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and movie fans alike.

Complete your afternoon with a visit to the iconic Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. Wander through its vibrant maze of shops, where you’ll find an array of treasures, from stunning jewellery and aromatic spices to fashionable clothing, traditional Turkish lanterns, handmade bags, and more.
