What the musical is about

The story follows two young women at Shiz University:

• Elphaba — intelligent, passionate, and misunderstood because of her green skin.
• Glinda — charming, ambitious, and socially popular.

Despite their differences, they become close friends. As political tensions rise in Oz and they encounter the Wizard, their paths diverge, eventually transforming them into the iconic witches from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
