Itinerary

Day 1 (Travel To Italy):

Let’s travel to Italy! On arrival we’ll join our friendly local representative for our transfer to our hotel at Lake Molveno situated under the shadow of the Brenta Dolomites.

Day 2 (Bolzano & Collalbo Train):

Following a leisurely breakfast join us on a full day excursion with our expert guide as we start our day with a visit to Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites. We’ll explore the wonderful art, architecture and treasure of the city on a walking tour followed by some free time at our leisure for further exploration.

This afternoon we will take the Renon Cable Car to the hilltop village of Soprabolzano where we will board the Renon Railway for our onward journey to the picturesque mountain town of Collalbo.

As the historic narrow-guage train climbs to an altitude of 1221 meters we will enjoy views of some of the most dramatic scenery of the Dolomites. As we return, by coach, to our hotel in the late afternoon we will have some photo opportunities of the Earth Pyramids rock formations of the South Tyrol.

Day 3 (Mendalo Funicular & Wine Tasting):

Today’s excursion will take us to the village of San Antonio at the foothills of the Mendola mountain range where we will board the funicular and ascend the mountain to Passo della Mendola (journey time approx. 12min each way)  Our journey crosses numerous bridges, travels through woodland and offers spectacular mountain views as we climb 1363 meters. Once we descend the mountain our guide will take us to a local winery for some wine tasting before returning to our hotel in the afternoon.

Day 4 (Caldes & Cles):

Let’s explore more! We start our day travelling by coach to the historic town of Mezzolombardo where we will board our train for a scenic journey through the mountains to Caldes. On arrival we will visit the impressive Gothic style 13th century Caldes Castle which overlooks the Noce River. Following some free time at leisure our afternoon visit is to the Assessorile Palace in the village of Cles. The building appearance reflects the 15th century reconstruction of a tower dating from the 13th century and is famous for its frescoed walls.
