Itinerary
Day 1 (Travel To Mallorca):
Let’s travel to Palma to start our holiday to the beautiful island of Mallorca. At the airport let’s meet our friendly local representative, before travelling onwards to our hotel in S’Illot.
This evening let’s get together with our fellow travellers for dinner at our hotel.
Day 2 (Orange Express Ride):
Today let’s discover the inland of the island, by train, with the famous Orange Express. Officially known as the “Tren de Sóller,”, it’s a charming and historic narrow-gauge railway crossing the picturesque landscapes of Mallorca. This iconic train, with its vintage carriages painted in vibrant orange hues, will take us on a scenic ride from the capital city of Palma de Mallorca to the charming town of Sóller. After this journey through another time and another Mallorca, we’ll embark on a tram to Port Soller, a horseshoe-shaped bay with its calm waters and sandy beach surrounded by dramatic cliffs, located on the northwest coast, nestled between the lush and green Tramuntana Mountains and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 3 (At Leisure):
Today you have a full day at leisure, enjoying the comfort of your hotel or exploring the charming town of S’Illot, a tranquil seaside resort village known for its relaxed atmosphere. Why not going for a stroll on the pleasant waterfront promenade?
Day 4 (Salt Mines):
Let’s explore more this morning with a 1h20 visit to the Salt Mines d’Es Trenc located within the Natural Park of Es “Salobrar de Campos”. Our guide will tell us about the history of these open-air salt mines, and will explain us the particular birdlife of Salobrar, and finally we will discover the crystallization and production processes of the sea salt and Flor de Sal d’Es Trenc, the only one produced on the island of Mallorca. At the end of our visit, we will enjoy a little tasting.
Let’s enjoy more this afternoon with a visit to a local wine producer. We will embark for a 40min ride on a little town train through the vines, where we will learn about the history of the winery, its vineyards, the Binissalem (Protected Designation of Origin) and the wine making process, followed by 3 wine tasting (red and white).
Day 5 (At Leisure):
Today is yours. You can enjoy more by soaking up the sun beside the swimming pool with a fresh drink.
Day 6 (Olive Oil Producer & Palma):
Today we’ll experience more, with a visit to a local olive oil producer, followed by a picnic. With our guide, we will have a commented walk in the historical Olive Grove, leading us to Sa Balsa, an 18th century pond built to feed fresh mountain water to the kitchen of the main house and the vegetable gardens of the property. It was then transformed in the 19th century by the Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria into a magical retreat amongst ancient trees and aviaries a haven of peace in a changing world. There, we’ll enjoy a plentiful picnic on the very same lawn where the Archduke threw a birthday party for his visiting cousin Sisi of Austria.
On our way back to the hotel, we will stop in Palma de Mallorca for a short, guided tour of the city centre of this vibrant and cosmopolitan capital of the Baleares islands. Its historic heart is filled with narrow, winding streets, centuries-old architecture, and well-preserved landmarks. The iconic La Seu Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic design, and the Almudaina Palace are just a couple of the city’s historical gems.
Day 7 (At Leisure):
Today is another day free to relax and take in some further sightseeing. Our expert local guide will be happy to suggest activities and advise on must-see highlights. For example, the nearby town of Porto Cristo is famous for its beautiful marina and historic sites, such as the Caves of Drach.
