Itinerary

Day 1 (Travel To Croatia):

Let’s travel to the capital of Croatia. At the airport let’s meet our friendly local representative, before travelling onwards to our hotel in the city centre of Zagreb.

Day 2 (Zagreb Walking Tour):

Let’s start the day with a half-day walking tour of Zagreb with our expert local guide to discover the heart of Croatia, a city of contrasts, where medieval charm meets contemporary vibrancy. We will wander through Donji Grad, the Lower Town’s wide boulevards and squares adorned with Austro-Hungarian architecture. Then we will stroll towards the Upper Town. Now we step into the enchanting Upper Town, a realm of medieval streets, Baroque churches, and historic squares, where we stroll through St. Mark’s Square, where the iconic tiled roof of St. Mark’s Church and the medieval Stone Gate captures the essence of Zagreb’s rich heritage.

In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore or shop at your own leisure. Our local guide will be happy to offer suggestions of activities to suit your interests.

Day 3 (At Leisure):

Today will be a full day at leisure to spend as you wish. You may simply relax at your hotel or independently explore the streets of Zagreb, with its various museums and galleries, including the Museum of Broken Relationships, providing a unique and emotionally resonant cultural experience.

Day 4 (Plitvice Lakes National Park):

Today, we leave Zagreb for the Adriatic Coast, and on the way we will visit the enchanting Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a definite must-see in Croatia. Here, we will explore more with a 4-hour guided walking tour through Croatia’s oldest and largest national park taking in the beautiful surroundings, and admiring the lakes, waterfalls, nature, and wildlife. Appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended!

Please Note: There are hilly areas within the park to see the all that nature has to offer.

Then, we will continue our journey towards Opatija, on the south side of the Istrian peninsula.

Day 5 (At Leisure):

You have the day for yourself, to peacefully relax by the swimming pool staring at the blue of the Adriatic sea. If you want to explore more, chat with our guide and pick up some tips and information on how to make the most of your free day. Opatija is one of the oldest European tourist destinations, the cradle of Croatian tourism, situated below the mountain and Nature Park Ucka.

Day 6 (Pula & Rovinj):

This morning, we will visit more as we embark on a full-day excursion across the Istrian Peninsula. We start our journey in Pula, famous for its Roman architecture. Our guide will take on a guided walking tour with highlights such as the Amphitheatre, entrances included, which was built at the same time as the magnificent Colosseum in Rome and could seat about 20,000 spectators, making it the 6th biggest in the world.

This afternoon, we continue our journey to discover more, with a guided walking tour of Rovinj, the ”pearl of Istria”, also called the ”most Mediterranean town” and the ”most photogenic town of Adriatic”. We will visit the Old Town, which sits on a peninsula, a protected historical ensemble. We will experience the sights of this magical town while strolling up narrow streets to the magnificent baroque church of St Euphemia. This church is the town’s most important monument and looks over the sea and safeguards the legend of the stone sarcophagus of Saint Euphemia, the patron Saint of Rovinj.

Day 7 (At Leisure/Optional Excursion To Istrian Hilltop Towns):

Today is yours. You can relax more at your hotel, walk down the promenade, or relax at the beach in Opatija.

Begin you day with a scenic journey to two of Istria’s most charming hilltop towns. Departing at 09:00, you will reach Buzet. A shuttle will bring you up the hill, and you will have a guided visit of the traditional family distillery and brandy tasting. It lasts for about an hour, but you can have more time to explore or relax if you wish here.

From Buzet drive to the artistic town of Groznjan. Wander through Groznjan’s picturesque streets, brimming with galleries, craft shops, and views of the beautiful Istrian countryside. You will have free time for lunch as well here.

Return to the hotel is expected to be between 15:00-16:00.
